I've been teaching a small seminar-type discussion-based class (Economics Sophomore Tutorial) which is also going online now but also several courses at HES which have been primarily on Zoom - M&A, for example, is based on HBS cases but completely on Zoom.

I am happy to help in any way I can and point out some of the good and sometimes bad things about zoom. I should add that while in no way the same experience as an in-person class, Zoom comes pretty close, especially since it's been constantly improved since I started using it. I am currently teaching the proseminar (an introduction to museum studies and writing course) and museum architecture in the Museum Studies Master's Program. I'm an art historian who specializes in 19th-21st century art, architecture, photography, and film.

I have experience teaching both asynchronous and live conference classes online. Live online classes can be as rewarding as teaching on ground in the classroom, and they are not hard to set up! I have taught distance courses in the Harvard Extension School since 2011, I usually teach 2 courses each term. I teach at the Harvard Summer School as well. I can share some lessons learned and best practices on how to design a dynamic online teaching experience using Zoom, how to use some helpful resources provided by the CANVAS website, how to foster engagement among distance students, how to deal with large groups when teaching online (sometimes I had groups with 100 to 200 students from all over the world), how to rely on teaching assistants and introduce effective communication policies to help online students to stay connected, how to create and manage quizzes which are graded automatically by the CANVAS system and how to engage the class in project-oriented learning that yields a quantifiable result which helps our students to sharpen their skills in the workforce.
