Zahra Ahmed, DCE Faculty Development Specialist

As a thought partner, facilitator, and coach, I lead and design faculty trainings and resources on pedagogy and practices for online and in-person teaching.

I am passionate about cultivating communities of practice for faculty to connect, share, and grow. I launched the Inclusive Teaching Institute, a learning community open to faculty and teaching staff University-wide. This initiative is funded by the Harvard Culture Lab Innovation Fund. Through the Institute, I have implemented 2 faculty fellowship models, including an instructor-led professional learning model and an instructor peer learning group model.

I have experience working with diverse audiences in higher education, PK-12 school, museum, and community settings. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctorate in Adult Learning & Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University. As part of my research, I am co-designing an assessment tool with a leadership consultancy to support leaders to build self-awareness of racial equity.

Feel free to reach out to schedule a consultation (coaching conversation) or a teaching observation to support you on your teaching and learning journey. Also, reach out if you are interested in having a teaching workshop facilitated for your team or department. I look forward to connecting with you.
